No. You don’t give up exactly what someone else has said in any context, but you’ve got a novel, a story or something. So it’s DEINE’s summary, DEIN’s own text, a text that you can also sign with DEINEM name.

Whether the author of the novel or the readers of the novel agree with your summary, they may even consider excellent, or if they find it catastrophic, that is not the debate.
