Should you buy a WD hard drive or a second smartphone for data backup while traveling?

I'd like to back up data while traveling. I actually wanted to buy a WD hard drive. But it costs almost as much as a budget smartphone. So I thought I'd buy a second smartphone instead, but use it solely as a data storage device. What do you think?

Practical is a USB combination, which has just 2 USB ports and can then be plugged into the mobile phone with the normal A connection into each computer.

For example:

You will get an external disk much cheaper than a smartphone with the same storage capacity.

You didn’t say how much and from what device you want to save, but an SD card might be useful.

What is your budget and how much GB you want to save. If you don’t have a clue from verycrypt and don’t want to deal with it, I’d guess about it.

You asked for saving data. If you need help with your life, find someone else with a clue.
