Well, in the large-scale range, you may not find a wheel that allows a higher weight. 140 kg are already a fairly high release for a bicycle made from mass production.
The thing is, if things get broken, Cube’s rough. They will explain to you that you have loaded the wheel beyond the specifications and therefore have lost warranty and warranty claims.
Then the one question is whether something is broken – probably not if you stay on fixed paths and watch, not blunt over curb edges and through percussion holes. Evtl. want the spokes to be stretched earlier than usual and if your routes contain serious differences in height, I would strongly recommend you to deal with the correct use of the brakes so that they do not overheat and fall out.
The other question is if you could easily take it on your own cap if something should break. If you can say “if a new frame would have to be made for €500, then that would be the same”, the thing looks different than if it was unbearable for you.
Gentle overload is safe, but if you want to drive anywhere, I’d be safe. Even a suitable bicycle shows (my experience) the load with a clearer wear – that is, even this needs a little more dedication. Have a bike for total for my girlfriend max. 170 concerned. The thing weighs according to the manufacturer 19.5 – thus makes 150.5 they weigh “darf”. Believed to be under 150, she’s never been my baggage to me – but she’s not about 20. When I listen to my own regular bike as a comparison under my “only” 107 kilos (without baggage) “work”, probably well so 😉
Before all the rims are not built for the higher weight.
There are double dead rims with more spokes that have a higher load capacity.
My biobike (total weight 100 kg) weighs about 20kg, plus my 98kg and up to 20kg luggage. In my case, I assume that the trader will be subjected to warranty claims. I see fewer problems in terms of insurance. Moreover, I have never been weighed in the 56 years that I am driving more or less regularly.
