yes, but varies from country to country.and from service to service.

the regular weekly civil service period approx. 38.5 hours.

Are we talking about Austria? Then the usual time is about 45 hours a week. On average you have to work at least 40 hours a week.

In the rescue service you don’t have regular working hours anyway, as you’ll be assigned differently every week. You can’t work more than 60 hours a week. In practice, one is usually divided between 40 and 55 hours per week.
