Tick bite?

After showering today, I discovered a tick bite near the genital area of my right thigh. The tick was very small, and I was able to remove it completely. It looked like the bite was fresh, and when I crushed the tick, there was no blood. The wound is—if anything—1 cm in size and, of course, red. I don't feel any itching or pain. I'll keep an eye on the area, of course, but I don't think anything major will happen (hopefully). My last TBE booster vaccination was almost seven years ago. Should I see a doctor right away or wait?

The tick takes about 24 to 48 hours to bite and start sucking blood. It’s good that you discovered her early and completely removed her. Keep an eye on redness or other changes. Since your last FSME refreshment vaccination has been 7 years ago, it would be useful to consult a doctor to make sure and refresh the vaccination.

I would go to the doctor at your place, but normally you should have a refreshment vaccination every 5 years. With over 60 years of age every 3 years.

Yes, I am right to you, but ticks, unfortunately, transmit so bad diseases that you really have to count on as an exception.
