Braces face?
Hello, I have fixed braces and would like to ask if someone can answer my question or help me (it's not a big deal)
Before getting braces, I consulted an orthodontist to see if they could change my face (because of my jaw, etc.), and she said no. Only if teeth have to be removed, or if I have an underbite/overbite, or if surgery shifts my jaw slightly. Not in my case.
I had an upper canine tooth that was behind my lower canine instead of in front of it. It's not like that anymore. I used to have a very round face and chubby cheeks before I got braces, and I noticed that my face had become more elongated. I only really noticed this over time, and I absolutely don't like it.
But I noticed in a photo I took shortly before and shortly after the appointment that my face changed immediately when I had them in. That means this difference isn't permanent, right?
Because sometimes when I had wires in and out, the feeling was completely different. And maybe I'm just thinking that because I bite a little higher because of the wire and the raised areas that are still there in some places. My molars are biting together properly again, which wasn't the case before.
I'm just wondering if you've had any experience with this and whether it's really only temporary or if my face is now ruined forever, even after the braces…
As I said, it's not that tragic, I just want to be sure, because lips, for example, look fuller because the brackets are on the teeth.
hmmm, therefore, were drawn to me at that time and nothing changed on my face. doesn’t mean it can’t happen. Your lips are only “changed” as long as the tooth clip is inside. you also simply change in growth, you lose the babyspeck etc.
It’s normal in puberty. The babyspeck goes back and you get more candy facial features.
