Toothache after the dentist?

I had an appointment at the dentist today where my wisdom tooth was filled. Two hours after the appointment I am in a lot of pain. I am not sure if I should take a painkiller because of it, but I have never had such a strong pulling sensation in my tooth after an appointment before.
Could it simply be because it was my wisdom tooth or should I be worried?

It was not a root canal treatment, just a normal filling where a medication was also placed to inhibit the inflammation. During the root canal treatment I had significantly less pain.

I would be a doctor contact. Caution is better than forbearance.

I am not sure that I should take a small tablet

Yes, of course. The parts are there for that.

If the pain doesn’t go back, report to the doctor again.
