With the Comdirect Visa Debit you already have a card that is also suitable for use in the USA. With this card (depending on the account model different) at least three payouts per month on any ATM with Visa symbol are possible worldwide for free. For payments in foreign currency, you pay a surcharge of 1.75 % (which is the usual).

Take the map V I can’t answer anything. Under https://www.visa.de/bezahl-mit-visa/produkte.html is also:

V PAY can be used to pay for trading throughout Europe and often worldwide, and cash can be removed at the vending machine. Worldwide, V PAY cards are accepted wherever EMC technology with chip and PIN is available.

To what extent this is the case in the USA, I do not know.

No. You need a real credit card (from Mastercard, Visa, AMEX or Diners). Application from 18 years with good credit, takes 2 – 3 weeks.

Until then, you won’t get a credit card, change Euros to US dollars. German cards don’t get you in the USA (except credit cards).
