Change YouTube video quality?

Hey guys

I use YouTube on my phone and PC. But one thing really bothers me: the automatically set video quality of YouTube videos on my phone. And this feature (as far as I know) is only available for the YouTube app. There are three options:

1. Automatic

2.Higher image quality

3. Data saving mode

I have to say, though, they're crap. Sorry to use the expression, but they just don't work. When I use Automatic, I always get 480p, when I use Data Saver, I get 360p, and when I use Automatic, I get 360p again – and that happens every goddamn time. I still wonder why they added this stupid feature. I always have to click on the gear wheel, select Quality, Advanced, and 1080p (or whatever is available) for videos. Is there any way to turn this off or configure it so it works?

Thank you in advance

So the solution is:

Go to the settings -> settings for video quality -> and select maximums for mobile and wlan. Does that help?
