Yashica FX-D quartz from around 1980?
Hello photo specialists!
Today I have a very specific question.
I have a whole case of analogue photo accessories, including a YASHICA FX-D Quarz camera. I wanted to do some clearing out and decided to look at this case, among others. I know that I won't get much money for this stuff on eBay, but since I only shoot with my digital camera these days, I simply don't need the old stuff anymore. So I bought batteries and tried out whether everything still worked. But to my horror, what happened? The camera shutters, but the mirror doesn't go back up. Only when I remove the lens does the mirror go back up again. And it's the same with all three different lenses I own. What's wrong? Does anyone have any idea? I would be really grateful if someone could help – I think the things are too good to throw away and I don't even list broken items on eBay.
Thank you for your attention, and I would really appreciate any answers. I couldn't find anything relevant when Googling.
I don’t know what the camera could have. I have such a case here and I don’t care: You don’t get much for it.
The lenses are more interesting: You can sell it or adapt it to the digital camera. Mostly with great success!
I guess the mirror damper has become sticky. Thus the mirror no longer goes back to the end position.
Ask a Kamara expert what would cost a replacement.
