I bought an Acer Predator XB1 X271HU. My plan was to connect my Series S to it so I could get 1440p at 120Hz. The problem is that the monitor only has HDMI 1.4, and while I can get 1440p, I can't enable 120Hz. Or rather, when I enable it on the Xbox, the screen goes black and it says "No Signal."
Do I need to buy a DisplayPort adapter to achieve 120Hz?

HDMI 1.4 unterstützt 1440p nur mit 60Hz. Daher wirst du keine 120Hz aktivieren können.
Wenn du dir keinen neuen Monitor zulegen möchtest, bleibt nur ein HDMI auf DisplayPort Adapter.
Achte auf die Richtung des Adapters. Die meisten Adapter sind für DisplayPort auf HDMI. Du willst allerdings die andere Richtung.
Der Adapter sollte dann HDMI 2.0 bzw. 4K mit 60Hz unterstützen.
Anständige 1440p Monitore mit 144Hz haben auch ein HDMI 2.0 Port. Darüber wird die XBox direkt 120Hz nutzen können. Falls du noch das Widerrufsrecht nutzen kannst, könntest du auch ein anderen Monitor in Betracht ziehen.
