Would you want to stay with such a company?
Hey
I've written a lot about my work over the past few weeks and months because what's going on there just isn't normal for me anymore. Only last week did I finally take the step toward quitting. And I'm going through with it, no matter what.
It all started last Tuesday when we had our daily team call. After about 15 minutes, all 5-6 of us present saw our boss sitting naked on a bed with a guy. As expected, she was terribly embarrassed. But as a team lead for a large real estate company that deals with oil and the like, you can't afford to do that.
So now to my home office issue. I actually came to see you so that I could work from home and not have to commute all the time. Which, mind you, I've been doing for about 4-5 months, and there's not enough room in the office for that many people. HR also claimed things like it's noted in my contract, but I couldn't find anything that day. And I felt really offended, because I actually chose the company because of the home office. And they just said I can/am only allowed to do it with approval. But the others on the team are allowed to do it without approval… I mean, HELLO!
And ever since the project I'm on started, people have been coming and going every month. None stay longer than a month. They either have to rename 1,000 files like me for 8 hours a day or simply do pointless work like working through lists.
Back when I came in from reception at another company, I thought back-office work would be nice and easy. But there, chaos reigns: Piles of papers are scattered around the office, reminders are piling up, and boxes of files are lying around. If you ask someone for information, they ask the next person and don't give you any useful information. It's really annoying. Even HR took a total of two hours to give me any information about my notice period.
My boss and my team leader didn't say ANYTHING when I handed in my resignation on Thursday. They simply didn't care what was happening to me or why I'd resigned… and honestly, I don't want to put up with that or deal with it.
What do you think? Would you have stayed in a company like that?
Maybe they’re just glad you’re going voluntarily. I hope you have a new place. Being unemployed at home is not the true. Especially when you have to live the first 12 weeks of the substance.
I’m looking for something else and I wasn’t in the home office. Only the situation there was simply unacceptable
Then you won’t get around the 12 weeks lock.
It is reasonable for everyone to look for a new place, and then to announce that you can change seamlessly.
