Wound? Fungus? What's wrong with my rabbit? Any tips?
Hello, I've noticed my rabbit fiddling with its ear several times now. Then I took a look and found this on its ear. It looks like a fungus or something to me. Do you recognize this or know what it is?
Thanks in advance
Look with the magnifying glass whether the mushroom does not randomly have 6 legs, although the hue doesn’t really come, but with lightning colors sometimes appear different.
I didn’t have a magnifying glass at home, but I looked up with the macro function of my phone and found nothing.
Then look again at daylight. If it should appear rather orange, most likely autumn grass mites. Or loan magnifying glass to the neighbor.
Okay, I’ll do that, but it’s so yellow-gold.
So I can’t imagine anything about it. The skin itself looks good. Usually there are sheds or the skin is inflamed, it should be a fungal or mite attack. A little further downstairs, I don’t see anything unusual.
It also shimmers straight gold. Are you sure the breeder just didn’t want to “mark” the rabbit?
Where does she lose fur? All body/back or circular at certain places?
By the way: The rabbit is much too young to be separated from the mother. This is extremely unreasonable. At that age, they still drink breast milk. It wouldn’t surprise me that the animal gets any disease with such a weak immune system.
Yes, I meanwhile know that they were separated too early, but we know the people personally and the worst is that they have been separated from the mother for a long time, especially the boy. I was supposed to pay attention to it, but I assumed that they knew it.
I brushed my rabbit and there were hair in my hand. Never happened before. I can ask if he marked it, but I think he would have told us.
Can I do anything to strengthen the immune system? I didn’t separate them, and it’s not my fault (when someone pushes everything on me again), but I want my rabbit to be good and want to help them.
The breeder also meant that he separated them because the sexual maturity has become. I also realize that he doesn’t really know about it and his attitude has been terrible. I hope I can help my rabbit somehow now.
But thanks for your answer
That sounds more like he’s in the change of fur. My rabbits already lose their fur. As long as there are no cold spots, it’s all right.
A good immune system can be found here: https://www.kaninchenwiese.de/pflege/immunschwaeche/
As long as the veterinarian has not confirmed this, I would resort to the natural means like ginger.
Just go to the vet on Monday. I don’t see any need to go to the doctor.
All right, thank you 👍🏼😊
Just go to the vet, that can’t be so hard
My TAs have now closed and I don’t know if it’s worth going to the Not TA now. If it’s not gone by month, of course, I want to know if you can treat it at home. Maybe someone knows about it.
In the case of skin problems it will not arrive on the day
I honestly don’t think
