Write exciting text?

Hello

I'm currently writing a book about the end of the world. This is my first book that I'm planning to submit to a publisher. I'm trying to write good, exciting sentences, but I'm not quite sure how to maintain the suspense.

In order to build tension, it’s not just about the assembly. The readers should be held at the edge of the seat, they should not know what happens next but have vague fears. You can sprinkle bread crumbs, direct them with descriptions in a direction you want and then take a completely different one. True tension is when readers do not know what will happen but that it will not be good.

Of course, you shouldn’t go through that. I just write a story with apocalypse and of course I have many exciting scenes but my favorites are actually the “Filler episodes”. Where the characters get to know each other better, have fun together and can be a moment human before they have to get back to the fight. You can also work with this, the most shocking death of my story happens in such a scene. All is good, they laugh, they dance and then boom.

You need to find a good way, between tension, excitement and comfort.

You have to put a lot of descriptions on your own. You don’t write about the war, you write about the burned teddy bear on the roadside. Look for individual factors that cause discomfort, the feeling of coming spoils. Let images be created in the minds of the readers, describing as if your character meets the same fate and let the reader fear him:)

Use exciting words like: suddenly, at once, as from nothing and so.
