Would you start studying computer science even though you have zero programming skills and/or know nothing about it but are interested in it?

Math isn't a subject I get an A+ in, and I know absolutely nothing about programming.

At most I know how to make "Hello World" come out xD

But do you think it makes sense to study computer science if you can't program yet and don't know anything about programming but are interested?

What appeals to me most is the good work-life balance

Sure.

I just need to be aware that it will be its steep learning curve.

I also need to be aware of what job I want to do.

Well, it’s likely to be quite difficult, because in the first semesters we’re usually highly audited.

But just because of the work-life balance, you shouldn’t do that, because you should be interested in this. And perhaps before, try to learn a programming language.

I also studied computer science, or I am still studying and had hardly any skills in programming. It is possible in any case, but the speed is very fast and you have to work a lot. It is definitely highly recommended to take Skills before you have the time

Computer science is not just programming. However, today it is easily possible to work on this autodidactically. I would also recommend that you get at least one idea whether you want to go on.

You should invest the few days.

This is a questionable motivation. You should also become clearer about the various professional images in IT and seriously check if the “work-life balance” is really so good…

However, it depends heavily on the AG – my personal work-life balance is great with 100% remote office, good payment, “Remote Benefits”, 4-day week if needed and workation.

If you work as a system integrator, this often looks different or even as a pure application developer at Crunchtimes.

At AG, on the concrete job, on the market situation, even on its own age it can arrive.

I started computer science too. Mathe rather meh, but always a lot of interest in the subject. The 1st semester was hard, although there was the subject basics of programming, but even what was not easy without prior knowledge. I did it anyway.

A study is mainly there for learning.

The entrance is then clearly bumper, but still possible.

For the first time, however, you might start teaching yourself a little to make sure you like it.

In studies or in profession?

You don’t need to study for the latter.

No, because I’m not good at math.
