Working student – what about pension insurance contributions?

Hello,

Let's assume I always work €520 during the semester (about 9 months a year) and therefore don't have to pay any pension insurance contributions (since that's all you pay as a student), but during the semester break (3 months a year) I work the same job 25 hours a week and therefore naturally have to pay pension insurance contributions. Do I then also have to pay pension insurance contributions for the €520 job, since I then earn more than €520 a month? Therefore, working more would only make limited sense for me…

As a student, you don't have to pay pension or unemployment contributions. And you already have health insurance.

Employment as a student employee is exempt from social security contributions precisely because students are already covered. The course of study is already recognized as pensionable.
