So my question is, does anyone have any experience on how I can prepare for this in advance?
I have about 2.5 months left until I start my new job.
I think they work with SAP etc.

To prepare you for the new job, you could acquire or refresh SAP skills (especially for production planning) as this is probably used. Also inform yourself about typical tasks in work preparation, such as creating work plans and piece lists. It would be good to understand basic processes in the metal industry and perhaps learn about lean production to improve efficiency. It also helps you prepare for cooperation with other departments such as production and logistics.
