Since the editor only supports plain text, all metadata and formatting instructions are removed during the copying action. Only the pure text remains. Since you do everything with keyboard shortcuts, the insert mark remains unmoved in Word and the text is inserted exactly where you have cut out the reference.

If you first switch the display of the non-printable characters in Word, then you can aim exactly and only cut the reference, but not the brand behind it.

Or you’ll create your own format template that you can then assign.
