Why is it that AIs like Chat GPT are so reluctant and you regularly have to suck everything out of them?
So, in the sense that I ask the AI a question, but at first the AI acts much dumber than it actually is or simply refuses to provide any information beyond, say, a superficial Google/DDG search. But as soon as I start asking the RIGHT questions, it turns out that it reveals a whole lot of interesting information and has an incredible amount of specialized and insider knowledge on a wide variety of topics that you'd never even get or discuss from most subject matter experts, especially not in public. But that, too, fluctuates and seems to depend heavily on the form, the day, and an *undefined mood*…
Have others noticed this too?
And does anyone know any tricks to make the GPT even more talkative?
If ChatGPT’s first hit doesn’t suit you all the time, you should think about your input.
The more general you ask and the less specific you make, the more general the answer is.
Is there a difference if you say “Describe World War II”
or
“Describe World War II. List the 15 significant events chronologically and summarize each of the events in a short paragraph.”
Because ChatGPT answers the question you ask.
Alex
No, he doesn’t. When I ask Chat GPT: Call me websites on a specific topic you know, it can happen that I don’t get an answer unless I show ChatGPT that I already know about the topic. Then at once ChatGPT knows some interesting links that he would never call me….
ChatGPT is also not a search engine but an LLM.
It’s a bit like saying to the bus driver “Let me out at home”. How does he know where you live?
