Wolf in sheep's clothing – sports car up to 30k€?

Hi, I'm looking for a sporty car for up to 30,000. If it's a bit more, no problem. It shouldn't be a GTI, i30n, or something similar, rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, petrol. I don't care about the horsepower, but the car should have a good 0-100 km/h (0-60 mph) and 100-200 km/h (60-120 mph). It can be a two-seater, but not a Miata-sized car; I'm just too tall for that. The features include air conditioning and cruise control. 🙂

It doesn't necessarily have to be a V8 with 20l consumption, anything up to 15l combined would be ok for me.

I'd prefer a car with a lot of "understatement," or a wolf in sheep's clothing. Preferably with decent tuning potential.

Does anyone have any creative ideas?

BMW 440i Coupé or M240i. You drive them at 10l and go to each one’s sack, so you don’t have to stop driving.

If you’re civilized, it’s 8-8,5l on average.

You will also be able to sell the box for the same money at any time.

At the 440i there is an M-Performance complete system. No end pot as with 1er/2er but straight with open flap. This is a completely different world to the M4. Engine brutally durable and overall maintenance costs are very manageable.

M2 won’t do anything for 30k. M240i.

Absolutely. According to OPF series doesn’t sound much worse, but you’ll find almost nothing for the sound. These are usually only end silencers with a small piece of pipe (slip-on). MPPSK system can only be operated without OPF.

A model with OPF is measured in sports. Said 440i with this MPPSK has, for example, 86 db in appearance, must be measured with flap and makes 83 vlt 84 db. So below the value in appearance. Shut up (Sport) is far over 100. Completely legal because only to be measured with flap.

The OPF may be louder (e.g. 93 db). This is then open, i.e. the value at which the non-OPF makes far more than 100.

Also for resale, always without OPF. I know it at the 1st. There it was when I bought my 2020 so that 2016-2018 (short before OPF, i.e. before June/July) have cost the same money as 2019er.

So 340i and 440i are already cramped, I’m just saying. Drive a 140i and only the M-Performance endpot and (currently not banished) a HJS downpipe are far from coming to the system in the 4th run. Would give a lot for the plant (legal). Shut up is okay, shut up is already brutal.

This is no longer possible today and so much there was (with approval) in very few cars.

If you don’t like the optics, you can’t change.

the M3 is gone. It was obviously a good car for very little money.

Inserat sounds serious and interesting. Price is too low. If the price is correct, it must be a real bargain. But I can’t imagine the seller seems to know and will certainly not be worth it.

Let’s see. Came in today. Tomorrow at least one of them will look at him. On Monday, he’s gone if he’s good.

In the color and the equipment it would be long gone. Almost 200,000. I think a lot of people have already looked at him. He’d be out of the court. I guarantee that he either runs like a sack of nuts, has some surprising lack or simply has never seen anything outside service before and then in the worst case only the BMW intervals.

Hey, what do you expect? Somewhere you have to make deductions, the engines are solid, if they are well maintained!

I myself drive an E46 330Ci from 2001 with over 280.000 km and it runs technically perfect!

I would always buy such a car only with manual switching, which keep significantly longer and make less zigzag than the automatic 🤷

If you don’t care about brands, you could look for a Peugeot RCZ. A really cool sports coupé, which I think has quite potential for the coming youngtimer – it was the last really emotional model of the manufacturer that has been a very noble brand (“Franzosen-Mercedes”). A new edition of this format is no longer to be expected under Stellantis-PSA. Gradually have gogled for fun, since reputable specimens start at around 10,000 euros. A spider car for the Kiddies was the RCZ never, apparently he had too little prestige before the disco. But this will benefit us today in the search for used cars.

Alternatively, you can look for a Chrysler Crossfire. It was not built in the Amiland but at Karmann in Osnabrück and used technology and even cockpit (!) of the first Mercedes SLK of 1996, which in turn builds on the Mercedes W202 (C-Class). Thus, it also has a very nice rear wheel drive. I drive such an old Mercedes C-Class, which has been a very robust and reliable friend for many years and 277,000 kilometers. The crossfire is not worse than the W202 and a car for connoisseurs who do not need a brand name. He is a Mercedes called Chrysler – DaimlerChrysler greets.

So I don’t get a serial car of the last 10 years that meets your requirements.

I had a Peugeot 208 GTi. He had a turbo petrol with 208 hp, went from 0 to 100 in 6.3 seconds and pulled up to 150 / 160 km/h still quite many cars. Thanks to the suspension, the part had a rich road position, and Kartfeeling arrived very quickly. Opticly, the vehicle was kept relatively very discreet, it was not possible to look at the performance at all. The only evidence was the edge spoiler, the exhaust and the red stripe on the front apron. And of course the sound that was really good for the part and read many people evasively look.

Is needed for around €13-15,000, I didn’t have a single vehicle problem with my up to 60,000 km. He ran and ran and was still quite economical. Under 7 liters combined, although I was often quite flotted and liked to let him walk on the car.

Once had a Skoda Octavia RS in front of me, who pierced his gas pedal, at least it seemed like that. In the meantime, he had to get away from the gas because, unlike me, he came so “slow”.

How about a Subaru Impreza? The current Impreza e-Boxer has 2 liters of 150 hp (Mild)hybrid.. is not a racing car like the STI, but in view of the number of admissions, definitely an Exot
