The tones are produced by controlling the converters. These ensure that the current from the overhead line is converted to the three-phase motors of the Taurus locomotive. A tone is produced which is raised stepwise. The frequency changes in whole and half-tone steps over two octaves. The fact that the frequencies sound like a conductor is full intention. For they sound more comfortable for the human ear.

Thank you. I would have explained it if I knew; Why is the frequency incremented and not infinite?

In almost all other trains, it is gradually increased or at least in significantly fewer stages.

The reason is just that it sounds more beautiful & pleasant. I don’t know why this never happened. Maybe it’s money?

Actually, every train should sound like that. 😅
