They are only available if you have one of the new Girocard with Mastercard Debit or Visa Debit as an additional payment system (instead of Maestro or V-Pay).

If that’s not the case, you’d have to ask if your Volksbank already offers it and order a new card accordingly.

Here (marked with number 3):

This applies only if your card also has the function of a Debit Mastercard or Debit Visa.

The Girocard itself has no CVV and cannot be used as a means of payment on the net, even in combination with MAESTRO and V-Pay. A CVV have credit cards as well as debit cards from VISA and Mastercard, the latter then also in combination with a Girocard.

There is only a CVV on credit cards or debit cards. It usually stands on the back and has 3 digits.

No, they also have debit cards if they are Visa or Mastercard. Or a combination of Girocard + Visa/MC Debit.

The debit cards of Visa or Mastercard are also generally referred to as credit cards in the Volksmund, as they can also be used in the same way. Only the balance is compensated for in time.
A Girocard is the bank’s own card and cannot be used like a Visa Debit/Credit .

This is not true, see the pictures in my answer.

Also the debit cards of Visa or Mastercard are generally referred to as credit cards in the Volksmund

Yes, unfortunately. But it remains wrong, because in fact there are no credit cards. And in order to avoid confusion, you should be accustomed to calling the cards correctly. The cards are called Visa Debit or Mastercard Debit and not credit card or debit card. Also the companies Visa and Mastercard themselves never call them a credit card. Most banks also don’t.

A Girocard is the bank’s own card and cannot be used like a Visa Debit/Credit .

Yes. The combination cards from Girocard and Visa Debit or Mastercard Debit (see pictures in the Rolf42 response) can be used in this way. These are Girocards that are equipped with Visa Debit or Mastercard Debit as an additional payment system instead of V-Pay or Maestro.

Nowhere. It’s just on a credit card.

No, it also stands on a debit card when it is a Visa Debit or Mastercard Debit. Or a combination of Girocard + Visa/MC Debit.

> In the question, however, there is talk about a GiroCard of the Volksbank and this does not have a number as it is a normal bank card. Pick up for money and for electronic cash.

However, popular banks now also offer the new combination card from Girocard and Visa/Mastercard Debit. See answer from Rolf42.

These are the new “normal bank cards” you get to the current account by default. Only the existing additional payment systems V-Pay or Maestro are replaced by Visa Debit or Mastercard Debit. And then, of course, you have the three-digit security code next to the Visa/MC card number.

And Visa Debit, Mastercard Debit, and combination cards from Girocard + Visa/MC Debit*. And of course also Visa and Mastercard prepaid cards. Not only credit cards;)

*From the savings banks and some folk and Raiffeisen banks, there are also current cards with CVV.

Visa Debit = credit card

Mastercard Debit = credit card

combination Girocard + Visa/MC is NOT EXISTENT. A Girocard is a completely different type of card

Visa Prepaid Credit Card = Credit Card

Master Prepaid Credit Card

There are debit credit cards, prepaid credit cards and credit cards with limit = All credit cards.

And there are Debit-Girocards (former EC cards) = No credit card.

Your example is a debit credit card, my statement remains true.

So much nonsense in a post?

Debit cards and prepaid cards are not credit cards. This is a contradiction in itself. There are no credit cards without credit. Visa and Mastercard themselves also call their debit cards never as credit card.

combination Girocard + Visa/MC is NOT EXISTENT.

This is what counts the savings banks and folk and Raiffeisen banks, who have long since issued such combinations.

Rolf42 was such a nice one too.

There is no debit credit card.

The images show Girocards with the additional functions of a Debit Mastercard or Debit visa.

Your claim “Company Girocard + Visa/MC is NOT EXISTENT.” is wrong.
