Where can you go on a trip abroad at school?

I'd like to go abroad for about six months next school year. I'm most interested in America, Australia, or (South) East Asia, like Thailand, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, or something like that. I live in Baden-Württemberg and wanted to ask if it's possible for me to just go somewhere else for six months? A girl in my class, for example, is currently doing that in Canada.

Hello

During school, you can leave for up to one year if you do a student exchange in time, i.e. go abroad to school. That makes sense if you want to get to know the other country, people, culture and language well.

Of course, there are organizations. For example, I was a school year in Japan.

However, there are application dates and they are usually one year to about 6 months before departure, i.e. for the departure summer this year you will not get anything. For example, you could apply for the departure in spring 2024. Especially in many Asian countries, the school year begins in spring, as this is particularly important.

If it had not gone or had not liked it, I would not tell of it now;) But of course you should try to learn a little in advance.

That’s what happens when you get rid of your school.
It’s called a year of exchange. It is usually handled by organisations that also know the host countries, explain visa formalities and prepare exchange students.

It costs a lot of money. Rechne with a good 10,000€ for such a year abroad.

There’s div. Agencies that organize such stays abroad – in other words, you can easily get a school exemption.

There are exchange programmes for students. However, this is quite expensive. Your parents would have to pay €80,000.
