Where is the second hard drive?

Hello,

I own an Asus R565JA-EJ2498W, built in 2021, and according to the packaging, it has two hard drives. But now my computer has crashed (it doesn't show any boot options in the BIOS) and I want to recover my data (because I'm stupid and didn't make any backups).

I examined the thing, and I have my 32GB M2 SSD here (right), but no other hard drive is visible. I also looked under the battery, but there's only the touchpad.

My question is, where is the second hard drive? Is it under the circuit board or something?

By the way, the space on the left has always been empty. Apparently you can install an extra hard drive there if you're smart enough to make backups.

Thank you in advance.

Nope. This thing has no hard drives at all. Neither one nor two.
For a device from 2021 would also be quite stupid if not negligent.

Hard drives have not been built into laptops for years.

…and this is not the case.
I don’t know where there was, but the IT center has either told Bullsh|t or you got something wrong.

At the top right of the picture is the NVME-SSD with 512 GB – and that was.
The shaft in which you have theoretically inserted 2.5″ disk is empty and has no interfaces. 🤷

On a drive(volume) that is located on a disk (here: SSD). Where else?

I’m so glaring that you’re words like “data carrier”, “partition” and “drive” or “volume” cannot differentiate and throw things together. 🤔
