Where can you park near property entrances?
In a rather narrow alley where one car has to swerve when another one is coming towards it…
Cars are parked alternately on the left and right sides of the road. There are no designated parking spaces, but there are a few restricted areas on both the left and right.
It is clear that parking in front of and opposite driveways is not permitted – otherwise the access roads are blocked.
But what happens if you park next to a driveway?
Is there a minimum distance that must be maintained between the actual driveway and the parked car? Does this depend on the width of the driveway? Does there have to be enough space to allow a truck or a large van to easily access the driveway?
Is parking permitted between two opposite, staggered driveways? If they are staggered enough to allow a car to fit between them?
Apparently, there are no precise legal regulations regarding the distances that must be maintained, at least I haven't been able to find any.
In front of and behind entrances you can park, in principle also opposite. The case law has described clear rules for this purpose: The person who wants to enter or exit the entrance is able to arrange several times (two to three times pre- and reset) – this is not to be created, has been parked irregularly.
It is usually convenient not to park directly up to the last centimeter of entrances, but to leave up to half a meter of space, the wider the entrance is, the closer you can naturally park it.
Does this have to be ensured from both sides that a ranking is possible? I mean forward you can get in more easily than backwards – depending on which side you come naturally 🤔
This applies at the end to the entry and exit of the vehicle – you will be able to turn in there more rarely … 🙂
Since the “inhaber” of the entrance, if it is not a one-way street, has the free choice in which direction he wants to leave his entry – in dead lanes this would possibly even be alternativeless – this applies in principle to both directions.
That’s clear, I say once you get in, then you get out again 😅
But if someone parks on the left of my driveway – I get easier into the driveway from the right side.
Therefore, the question whether it must be guaranteed from both sides?
The locking surfaces are, for example, always right from the home entrances 🤔
As the sidewalk is high, you can park where it is lowered, which is already the entrance.
