WLAN amplifier does not work even though I have restarted the router and amplifier?

Goodbye

I have a question. Does anyone know anything about the internet? I'm having problems with my Wi-Fi extender. I've unplugged it or reset it several times, and I've also restarted the router, but I still have poor internet (it's been like this since Monday).

W-lan repeaters can not strengthen Internet when it is bad.

You can still try to plug it to another outlet, because sometimes other radio waves(?) interfere. Or maybe install a second.

But sometimes the Internet itself is so “disturbed” that even the w-lan cannot work.

What can you do if the Internet itself is disturbed?

Read the router,

1 what comes in the download., , votes not with the contract (min. 80%) so at 100Mbit/s must arrive 80%.

2 Is a releaser in the connection. From 16:57 to 16:59, the signal is gone several times

Call the provider.

Then to your actual question.

Wlan amplifiers are not available. This is a customer’s catchword who doesn’t know what’s going on. And it’s good luck if it doesn’t get worse.

  • Use the search function in GF, with the search words

Wifi Repeater problem

then you have 500 answers that you can check before. Only then should you have a “Good question” formulate.

Tip:

  • Without the model of Repeater (and possibly router), you will get so many unsuitable solutions and suggestions that you need to check them all for several days.
  • Find the mistake in your question. Right: at all No Information
  1. Repeater model,
  2. Router model,
  3. error messages,
  4. description of misconduct,
  5. What equipment PC, Laptop, Smartphone, SmartTV, Game console
  6. Distances Repeater and router ( rooms/walls, several floors, …) in m?
  7. uvm.

Good luck!

.

They are 4 different LEDs:

  • Status
  • Signal
  • Mesh
  • Repeater

Blinking means there’s something wrong. So the need for action (explained in the manual on page 30). Depending on which LED now flashes, the meaning is different. From page 30, the manual explains what to do.

I have to guess now (what you mean). However, even if it lights green, the connection (LAN cable to PC or wireless WLAN?) is not so good.

So I guess the position of the WLAN repeaters is unfavourable.

Unfavourable position of the repeater means:

  • (my guess) Distance to the Speedport Smart 4 is too big. He should half way be between the Speedport Smart 4 and your room. If the WLAN repeater is in your room, this is unfortunately the totally wrong position. Half way would be right!
  • Too many massive, water-containing or metallic obstacles are on the WLAN radio link between Speedport Smart 4 and Repeater. Solution is then looking for another place, with fewer obstacles in between.
  • Repeater always increases, on a cabinet and shelf, place (use extension cables, even long LAN cables are allowed), there the WLAN reception is significantly better.
  • Repeater and router also do not position in room corners. Room corners cause reflections of the WLAN radio signals. Freestanding with distance to the wall is better.

Conclusion:

Find a better free position for the WLAN Repeater. Remember, perfect is a repeater on the half way between Router and your room.

With the free Android app Fritz App WLAN you can find a better position for the repeater.

  1. Use an Android smartphone with the app
  2. Turn the repeater off (switch off) and leave!
  3. Now with the Fritz App Wi-Fi you can find a good suitable position in the apartment, where the Wi-Fi of the Speedport Smart still offers some good practice reception. The app shows it color (green is ok, yellow is moderate, otherwise it is too weak)
  4. So find a place with a green area. Then put the WLAN repeater there and power it.

Here is the free Android app Fritz App WLAN:

Here’s the repeater manual. Read from page 30!!! Meaning of 4 LEDs and handle according to recommendation in the manual.

Good luck!

Are you sure you mean “intensifier”?

The operation of such things is either senseless or illegal. 🤷
