wisdom tooth surgery swelling?

Hello, I had my wisdom tooth surgery on Monday, including two more teeth being extracted. I didn't have any pain afterwards, and my cheeks were only slightly swollen. I brushed my teeth on the second day and left out the wound, but rinsed with mouthwash and ate normally again, mostly soft foods. Now one side is swollen again. Today is the fourth or fifth day. Is that normal? Or is an infection developing? I'm not really in pain, and I'm taking antibiotics. Unfortunately, I also have to say that on the first day after the surgery, for example, I smoked another cigarette about 8-9 hours later.

A swelling is as good as always signs of inflammation. What you mean is an infection with inflammation. Unprobably. Rather irritation, I guess. Save yourself and the wound over the weekend. Should this get worse or start to poke:

Inflammation I'd guess it's not.

If it's not much better by Monday, I'd ask the doctor again.
