Cumarin (and related substances) are responsible for the typical hypocrisy during the drying of grass, since coumarin is partially glycosidically bound in the plant and becomes free only when the plants are injured or when the plants are clouded by splitting off the sugar. Source: Chemie.de

Yes, does the plant have enough time to make coumarin if it is hurt by eating?

Or does this process take a while?

Does an animal eat fresh grass, coumarin?
