Windows clone won't boot?

Hello everyone,

I cloned my original SSD with Macrium and thought that if something went wrong, I'd just have to swap the original SSD for the cloned one and everything would be fine. But guess what, the cloned SSD won't boot; I get BIOS messages about a missing boot device or something.
Does anyone have any idea how I can proceed to make this swap of the two SSD cards work?
Best wishes & happy holidays –

Peter

When cloning, errors often occur. If it’s just booting, you can try to fix it with a Windows installation stick (provides an option). Otherwise try again. There is usually the option only to clone the operating system, that’s safer, but I don’t know how to keep it up with updates. They are temporarily stored on a partition that is then missing. Just did this to get Windows on a USB stick.

Probably you didn’t knock all, so also the small hidden UEFI boot partition at the beginning of the original plate. Or there are other plates in the computer.

How exactly did you clone?

I don’t think about cloning, because of such bug bugs, they can happen all the time. We also have no idea if you did something wrong.

It’s like you should have been kissed.

The only thing that remains is to reinstall Windows to keep your data but you now need a third hard drive pure for Windows.
