Make sure it is at least an OEM license – very important: for the European market. (The Kripo is constantly investigating in cases of license abuse. For example, Asian license activated in Europe.)

Retail would be better and more flexible – you can take it from PC to PC – but also significantly more expensive.

Avoid volume licenses – unless you take the risk that a license will not work from today to tomorrow.

If no type of license is specified => Do not buy.
