Will we soon have a super AI?

The CEO of OpenAI claims that progress in the field of artificial intelligence is exponential and he believes that in 10-15 years we will have an agi that could do any cognitive job in the world.

I'm a software developer at a bank, and I'm so scared I'll be unemployed. Do you think he's exaggerating, or do you think it's realistic?

I actually thought I would retire as a programmer, but somehow it seems that this is really unrealistic because AIs are already very good at programming.

What is your assessment?

Automation has so far been based on relocation, changes in occupations, and higher efficiency and greater productivity.

Should the profession of the software developer change by using AI, then the use of AI is more involved in its activity than before, but not the need for all software developers.

AI is a tool similar to an electric hair cutter is a tool for hairdressers – and these were not unemployed by such tools.

Yeah, there’ll be a super-KI soon. In my view, this depends entirely on the degree of networking of the currently existing AI applications.

Of course, the CEO is right. Not only the AI research progresses exponentially – but the entire technology. I’m surprised that you as a programmer are not familiar with the Moore’s law. If that’s the case, I would definitely recommend that you deal with it.

And how good ChatGPT seems to be able to write code, this AI appears to prove it again every day.

Do it Just familiar with the idea that you will no longer develop applications in less than 10 years, but will at best design them.

This has nothing to do with it and is no longer true today.

Of course, this has something to do with it and the law is neither obsolete nor has it lost its validity.

I mean, the guy himself just said that you shouldn’t interpret it as you say, but I’m sure you’re smarter, and so I’m also entitled to start others on the internet.

Well, if you think you’ll be right. Have fun still in life.

Then you have to know a way to build transistors from less than one atom. Krass.

If you’re looking at others and writing something like that, at least look at what you’re writing wrong…

I work in software development myself and have played ChatGPT for fun.

The code that he wrote to me was absolutely unusable, sometimes even wrong. And it wasn’t about complex problems but simple foundations. There are many solutions on the Internet, but ChatGPT solutions have never been used. So I’m not worried about my job.

clear, but as I said: absolutely unusable for programming. ChatGPT is still far from human intelligence.

No, AI is still quite stupid and seems to reach its limits so slowly.

No, we can’t do that at this time. We didn’t have much knowledge in this area. – progress is much more in speed than in knowledge gain.
