How much storage space for a gaming PC?

Hi,

I wanted to buy a gaming PC on which I can play some F1 games (from Codemasters), but also, for example, CoD MW or GTA 5. How many TB of storage should I look for on my SSD (is 1 TB enough?), and how much cache would be useful? I'm happy to accept recommendations for a specific SSD. Is there anything else I should consider when buying?

Thanks

That depends on how many games you want to play at the same time.

If you want to uninstall the games you have “through” or do not want to play again for a long time, then you don’t need much space.

The most violent games are just coming to a little over 100GB, so you can also have several of them on a 1TB hard drive at the same time.

1⁄2TB are more than enough to have several games on stock, so can play immediately without waiting for the download.

Only if you have a really terrible internet connection, you need a great stock of games.

Since 1TB and 2TB are currently quite favorable, you can use both and live with it.

Since reloading leads to backpackers or “Load Screens”, it is better to buy a smaller but faster SSD for the same money.

At HDDs the speed increased with the size of the plate. Just because the data density is higher and the data then gets more data under the head per revolution. Same speed but more capacity meant more speed.

Unfortunately, this is reversed with an SSD. The larger, the more “slower” the addressing of a memory cell and the longer it takes to read this memory cell. So big SSDs are either much more expensive or slower than small SSDs.

There are also enormous differences in writing. An SSD is a multiple slower than reading. Here you have to be careful, because if the game “records”, it can lead to performance breaks during reading, because the slow writing process must be maintained.

So not only pay attention to size, but also to reading and especially writing speed. The latter is usually not on the packaging!

Memory can be upgraded.

With a small budget, I would therefore take 1tb. With more budget, it should be 2. What kind of PC do you want to buy?

Unfortunately, the 4060ti and Intel processors are currently being advised. Intel has degrees more problems than any other brand and the 4060ti is very bad for their money.

What would be your budget and what an estetics do you want?(black, white, rgb)

The xtx and the x3d are another good piece better. This would also make 4k possible (with the 1270setup also, but with the better.)

It’s a good piece better. If you want to play on 1440p, that would be the better choice. For 1080p the 1000€ PC is complete (also for 1440p but then rather medium graphics and not max.)

And this is white with the performance of 1000€

Other versions still come.

If possible 1 TB NVme SSD, for the OS and the most important programs and then you can still upgrade if you need it.

This depends on which and how many games you play. For the average user, 1Tb is likely to be short. Would take at least 2Tb.

Is there anything else I should pay attention to when buying?

Of course. Some. Too much to break it down to a set.

I’ve installed three games a few days ago – and swamps were 220 GB of my M.2 NVMe. I’d buy a 2 TB M.2 NVMe. This is just for 143 euros here https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B0B7CMZ3QH/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1

I bought the 4 TB version of it because I always wanted to have so much storage to have everything available immediately;-) Of course I have also added a record for backups; there’s a backup on it once a week.

Hello,

How much TB storage space should I look for my SSD (riches 1 TB?),

1 TB is the minimum. Depending on how many games you want to install at the same time, you need that.

I would also like to take direct recommendations from a specific SSD

Here are two good PCIe 4.0 SSDs:

I use the WD Black myself. Is one of the best SSDs in my eyes.

Nowadays I would definitely take 2 TB SSD for the PC.
