This is completely OK, a higher mileage, especially on long distances, is not even better than short rides where the engine is not really warm.

Just wondering that someone sells a car after a year, that is rather uneconomic because in this one year the loss of value is highest.

1 year with 18k kilometers is completely fine. This is significantly better than 2000 km, as car damage can occur if they are not sufficiently moved. Tyres are likely to be the best known example, but the entire rubber bearings in the chassis can also suffer from this. This will not be the case for a year, but the 18000 are significantly “healthy” for the car.

Ne, 18000 km a year are relatively moderate and 180,000 in 10 years are also completely ok.
I know that I live rural myself and depend on the car for a lot.

The miles alone say nothing. The question is, in what state the vehicle is, whether all necessary inspections have been made and whether wear parts such as brakes, tires, clutch etc. are in order. If it’s a burner, I’d look at the exhaust system. Does the vehicle look well maintained? How’s the ride? Is anything beaten (e.g. crossbars) or are there strange sounds? Is it an accident vehicle? Diesel, petrol or electric? And so on. A high number of kilometres is not an internal purchase, rather a good negotiation option.

18,000 KM are quite a lot for a year, but completely ok. Probably the vehicle was used commercially or by a professional commuter. Private rather few people go so much. Of course there is.

Shortly followed: According to statistics from the German Federal Motor Vehicle Agency, the average annual passenger transport performance of passenger cars in 2020 was as follows:

Vehicles with diesel fuel: 19.353 km
Vehicles with petrol fuel: 14.951 Km
Vehicles with other drives: 10.395 Km

The 18,000 Km are therefore within the framework. Just as a little orientation. But as I said, it doesn’t really matter for the kilometers that have been driven.

I’d prefer a guy who’s got 2k on it for 1 year.

Cars must be moved… And 18k are not too much now. Keep moving regularly.

Depends on the price

That’s not so much.

Many drivers often drive 40 000 km a year or even more.
