You will check if you can afford to act. They sniff around in your assets, in savings and in income.

On the one hand, this is corrosive, on the other hand they also make sure that a student does not play his last savings on the market.

Compliance (i.e. the one that respects their wellbeing) is in their necks to accept only customers who can afford trading. That is, you either have to tell them or you don’t get an account.

No one has ever wanted to know that. I’d be suspicious, and maybe I’d be looking for another broker. Or just call and ask critically.

And why would anyone here know why your broker wants to know? This is not a psychic forum. Either you give it or you’re looking for another broker.

It might surprise you, I’m working at a bank. Nevertheless, I don’t know why an American broker calls for the information. Something happens if you want to use a foreign broker. The bank where I work doesn’t ask the info, the brokers I don’t know either.
