Why does swelling recur after a bruise?

Hello everyone,

I bruised the back of my hand 3-4 days ago when I accidentally hit it with a hammer.

Now the swelling and pain keep coming back. There's nothing seriously broken; the hand surgeon assured me this would be an emergency. She also ruled out a tendon injury.

However, during these attacks I suffer from restricted movement and pain which severely limits my everyday life and my work, as I work a lot with tools etc.

I put a lot of Voltaren on it and apply a pressure bandage with cooling, but it only helps in the short term.

What should I do or does anyone have a tip?

Lg

The swelling is clearly visible in the picture. My knuckles are completely red and blue, and the entire back of my hand is greenish/yellow/blue.

Hi.

Unfortunately, bruises or bruises often take a while to get better. This can take 2 weeks or a little longer, depending on how much the swelling is. It would be good to save your hand first and cool it. Much more can’t do.

Good improvement
