Why does Rewe have so many cameras?
Compared to other retailers (Lidl, Netto, Aldi), Rewe has a lot of cameras. Why is that?

Are supermarkets required to do this (by law/regulation)? Or are they (theoretically) allowed to sell everything to the first customer?

Rewe generally invests a little more in “security”. We always find some security forces on site.
With me in the Rewe it’s about 50-60 cams. A few years ago, it was 1 or 2 in the whole business. I really don’t think “theft security” has anything to do with it. There are other reasons…
I don’t think you can say the package, that’s probably different from branch to branch.
Usually install business cameras to prevent theft and/or track the thief legally
