Are you sure it’s up to date and current accounts? There is number of customers and not number of accounts. Current accounts are 3.4 million in the ING search. The difference could result from the daily money accounts. The ING always offers high interest rates for a certain period of time and then the whole “day money chopper” opens up an account in which there is no more money after the expiration of the interest rate retention period. So it would also be interesting to see how many of these accounts are used actively at all.

That’s what I see.

The former “DiBa” was very successful with its well-interested “Extra Account” and has won many customers, but not every customer has opened a current account.
