For now: A used item is always worth as much as someone is ready to pay for it. In general, a piano good from the substance lasts very long. Prerequisite: appropriate care. Important for this is a suitable small climate, not too humid, not too dry and protection from pests, especially from moths. Motten damage is not rare and can be very expensive.
Unfortunately, many piano owners lack the right care, and so it can be that the instrument is difficult to repair, with repair costs that exceed the price of a new instrument. If you want to get rid of such an instrument then you have to pay removal and disposal costs. Schlaumeier sells such an instrument to an ignorant for a few hundred € – or give it away – about ebay and willing. The fool is the buyer or recipient.
Some pianos are not beautiful or simply unmodern in terms of housing, they must then be offered cheaper by a dealer. In addition, there are very inexpensive new pianos by a few thousand €, which are not bad, e.g. the entry-level models of Yamaha or Kawai. This also presses the prices of used pianos and limits the margin of how much one can invest in repair costs.
The care is unfortunately true… I left my piano standing on a wall (Upright), which is cold (back of the wall shows outside. The wood has full-sucked with water, buttons stay down, is detuned for the shortest time, and smells like old wooden houses from WWII. Also molds… (wall and piano)
Moin!
There are several reasons why acoustic pianos are often offered at different prices:
1. **Condition and age:** Older pianos can be cheaper due to wear and aging processes. The state of the instrument plays a major role. A well maintained and regularly tuned piano will usually have a higher value.
Two. **Marke and model:** Known and renowned piano manufacturers often have a higher brand value, which can affect the price. Pianos of less well-known brands or older models can be cheaper.
3. **Materials and processing:** The quality of materials and craftsmanship affect the price. High-quality pianos often use more expensive woods and have more elaborate processing.
4. **Size of instrument:** Larger pianos tend to be more expensive, as they require more material and effort.
As with many objects of use, especially instruments, pianos lose value over time. The condition of the piano, the maintenance history and the brand awareness influence the value loss.
The decision between an acoustic piano and an e-piano depends on personal preferences and needs. Acoustic pianos offer the advantage of an authentic sense of play and sound, but require regular maintenance and can claim more space. E-pianos are often more portable, require less maintenance, but may not offer the same feel as an acoustic piano.
For beginners, an acoustic piano or an inexpensive piano can be a good option if it is in good condition. However, the right choice depends on the individual preferences, the available budget and the available space. It is advisable to try out different models and, if necessary, be advised by professionals.
