In cinema, the version that the studio has approved is usually shown, so often the shorter version. The Director’s Cut is the “artistic vision” that the director wants to implement.

The Director’s Cut is usually a longer version of the movie that contains other scenes. These versions are those that are wanted by the directors. quasi “her” version.

What the directors want, but do not always want the film studios. Especially when it comes to film length or maybe even R-Rating, then it can happen that the Directors Cut does not create it in the movies. The film studios have the right to speak and are responsible for marketing and broadcasting. Therefore, they also have an influence on which version comes into the cinemas and which does not.

If I have asserted something wrong, please correct me.
