Why don't dentists provide price information?

I emailed several dentists today asking them about the price of a treatment, and many said they only give out the price list after a visit. I find that cheeky and dubious. It's clear that the price always varies slightly depending on the issue, but getting a rough estimate can't be that difficult, surely? Are they trying to sell me something on a couch?

Also a craftsman will not give you a price before he did not get a picture of what was necessary for work.

That’s exactly how it’s with the dentist. Before he didn’t see your bite, he can’t say what has to be done and how great the effort is. Only after the collection of findings can he create a cure and cost plan and agree with you any additional costs for a high-quality supply.

The price differs when there are large or small holes/treatment areas.

There are also treatments that are not possible in some problems. Sometimes a plastic cladding may not sometimes do anything else.

Furthermore, not all problems are recognizable and require a roasting.

It would be inconsistent to do as if one knew a price that one cannot count without investigation.

By the way, you have to name them before you calculate them. The doctor is therefore obliged to give you the price as soon as he knows it before it is calculated.

No, they want to know the findings. It depends on what costs. Does the tooth have a small hole or is it bigger? The price of these services depends on the effort and cannot be estimated without a finding.

How should the dentist know on the phone how much effort you need?

No, a house number wouldn’t help you. The dentist must make himself a picture of what to do.
