How does one become a pilot at the Turkish SunExpress and does SunExpress train its pilots?
Hello, I've always wanted to become a pilot at SunExpress. But how do you actually become a pilot at the Turkish airline SunExpress, and how does SunExpress train its pilots?
LG
I have my license thanks to Turkish Flight Academy and have been flying for the SunExpress (Turkey). You need a license to apply to SunExpress.
I think Lufthansa’s making it, but don’t let me lie. If you have roots from Turkey, you can look at Turkish Flight Academy. Of course you need money.
We haven’t been looking for pilots since 2020. Maybe next year you can apply as a flight attendant to us.
We also always like to look for developers, financial advisers or others.
Look, if you want to come over here: https://hr.sunexpress.com/Default

Except for a few exceptions, airlines do not make their own pilots. But you apply to the airline when you pilot is.
Accordingly, the way you go to flight schools and make corresponding flight licenses would be. It’s like you’re going to the driving school. It takes only longer, is more demanding… and costs a lot more money.
Rectify roughly at €80,000. Well noted: These are only costs for training, flight hours, tests and the like. If you want to stay somewhere in between and eat, you need additional money (can also forget to work). And you finance all this from your own pocket. Either you have it yourself or someone gives you it, or you have to borrow it.
It used to be a good thing to borrow. The aviation industry boomed and who had a flight license also got a job somewhere to cancel the loan.
However, we now have corona crisis. The airlines have very little to do. This means not only that the planes are unused on the ground, but also that thousands of pilots are under contract worldwide and get a lot of money monthly… without being of benefit to their employer. In short, there are currently too many pilots in the world.
This means that no airline is setting new pilots. And that means, secondly, that there are many unemployed pilots with professional experience – and if the airlines are looking for pilots sometime again, they prefer to take them as newcomers.
Ergo:
I can absolutely understand that you want to become a pilot. It’s a great job. It’s just not gonna happen for a while. Of course, you can go to flight schools and make the licenses – but you have to count on not getting a job. That means you spent a lot of money and then you have to do something else.
So either, you have the money left and you can afford to spill as much money unused, or you wait at least 5, more than 10 years to look at how the aviation industry develops.
