How do you become an idol?

Hi,

I've often wondered what it would be like to be a K-Pop idol. But I don't know exactly what you have to do, how much you'd pay, or how to be good enough to debut. If I were to try, I'd do it when I was 16-18. But I live in Germany and don't know how I'd be able to pay for everything if I had to go to Korea. I look forward to any answers. Best, Letizia

So first of all you have to dance, sing and/or beat to learn Korean would also be a good idea. And you should do your audition as early as possible, as younger idols are currently being preferred. The older the harder it is to become idol.

Since you live in Germany, you have to make an online audition that is something different with every entertainment. At any entertainment site you can read what they want from you. The costs also depend on what entertainment you choose and how long you are a trainee. At Sm, Hybe, JYP and Yg you don’t have to pay as a trainee for living and catering. As far as I know, JYP and Hybe even pay you the flight to Korea. You have to pay for additional fees such as clothing and other expenses yourself. What you need to look after is that you have to pay everything for small entertainments in most cases. Consider that you need to repay everything during every entertainment if you don’t debut. There can already be several tens of thousands of euros.

Very important, consider whether you want to take the pressure and risks.
