I would like to get a dashcam for my car. (Audi A4 B8, 2011)
My question now is, what's the best way to handle the cable? I don't really want it to just hang down in the middle.
And where does a dashcam need to be plugged in? Is it plugged into the cigarette lighter or can it also be plugged in via the USB port?

In my previous car I had attached the cable above the front panel, then led down to the A-pillar and along the fitting to the center console.
In my current vehicle, however, this is not… it definitely comes to the vehicle. Of course, there is also the possibility to connect the cable directly to the on-board stream, only then you should also drive regularly by car to keep the battery alive.

Dashcam at the top of the windshield, cable under the roof sky to the A-pillar, move under A-pillar to the door seal (respect on airbag) and then the door seal along to the glove compartment.
