How many fish in 54l?

Hello,

How many fish can I put in my aquarium? I currently have 6 panda corys and would like to add 6 marbled corys and 10 red neons. Do I need to reduce the number, or is it okay as is?

I’d stay with a bullet. Pandas are medium-sized armored catfish, you can easily hold 10 of them in your basin. Armored catfish are social animals that feel safer in larger groups and then are more active. Pandapanzerwelse are from Peru at the foot of the Andes. There it is not as warm as untem in the Amazon. They are best kept without a radiator. With a warm summer they get well, but the average year should be cooler. It is often complained that they do not live long. This is practically always too high a temperature.

Make sure they are good in color when buying. Often
sells total blows, which remain pale later. Good
Pandapanzerwelse also have under the conditions of the sales pool
a dark back fin.

The best way to keep armored cats on sand. Rounded gravel also goes, but on sharp-edged splint they hurt the beards, where then pathogens penetrate the beards completely destroy and finally kill the fish.

Red neons are fish of the central drips from the Amazon lowlands, they need at least 24ยฐC, better a little more. The need for warmth does not match the pandas.

Take the natural neighbors of the Pandas: Normal Neonsalmler (Paracheirodon innesi). They’re also from Peru. They are often kept in warm aquariums at the upper edge of their temperature tolerance, but they benefit very healthily if it is not too warm. At room temperature they are healthier and live longer. Here, too, you can see the too high temperature at the service life. When buying, make sure to get healthy animals. Unfortunately, Neon’s cheap mass goods are where the breeders don’t deserve much. That’s why the breeder is slammed. The result is that often animals with malformations such as crummed spine columns or incomplete pebble lids are sold.

Hi.

Your assignment is okay. You can do that.

Ideally, I do not find the attitude of two armored species in 54 l.

If you want to change that, just take 8 pandas.

A second observation is that your cover suggestion is extremely floor-loaded. Depending on the design of the aquarium, one could better add a fish species for the upper area instead of a second larger armored species, in particular small pikes or salmers, such as

  • Aplocheilus parvus
  • Aplocheilus blockii
  • Epiplatys annulatus
  • Carnegiella myersi/marthae/strigata
  • Nannostomus marginatus
  • Hemigrammus hyanuary

PS

If you look at the temperature after eiei2’s advice: The Aplocheilus and the hemigrammus do this, the Carnegiella rather not, the Nannostomus up to 22 degrees approx.

Too many catfishes. Because they stay on the ground, it’ll be too tight. You should choose a way.

The Neons have enough space.

What did you not understand that the ground is too full?

1 armored species and 15 Neons fits well. More but NOT.

So at nem 54L aquarium you should not pack more than 10 fish and this also varies according to size of the fish.

10 is really little.
