Short distances are not worse for diesel than for Otto and no, they also no longer hold, that is a myth. Wearing is higher in the case of a cold engine and on short cuts is also enormous in diesel consumption, which is why it is worth buying a diesel for short-distance drivers, because purchase, tax and insurance are higher and the fuel costs are compensated only if you drive a lot. A diesel of 5,000 KM per year is hardly found.

There is a significant and important difference. The diesel engine takes longer to get to operating temperature and is therefore much longer on the road with cold oil. On the other hand, a petrol engine reaches its operating temperature faster.

Okay, that’s right, I didn’t think. In addition, there are problems with the soot particle filter and the great start / stop – Autoatik adds one more

You can’t say that. It may also be that the pre-owner has rarely, but then long stretched.

Look at the oil lid from the inside. If he’s really worn, you know he’s been driving a lot short distance.

And even this is no reason not to buy the car. It is important that it drives sensible and without alarming noises and that all services have been made in time (in particular oil change)

You can’t judge that. If someone has used the 5000km for medium or long distance, that will not be a problem either.

with a used diesel with 5000 km/year were probably very many short distances.

You can’t say that.

After 13 years, my car has only 72,000 km on the clock and I practically do not drive short distances at all.

At the same time, I have another car. With that I drove about in the last 3 years. 9,000 km almost only short distances in the city. The car may see a highway 2x a year. You see no difference.
