Oh, dear, that’s not easy to answer. For that, you should know how you want to make vacations and also where.

We have a farm in the south of Thailand and usually a car in Bangkok. We travel to Thailand and usually to places where you have more local tourists instead of foreigners.

I usually calculate hotel costs of about 50€ per night. More always goes, less so. I usually compare the hotels with Booking and Agoda. Make sure both apps are set to Euro. Because the apps determine the exchange rate when booking or you can see that you can pay at the hotel.

Want breakfast? Sometimes it is quite pleasant. But we also have hotels where a food cord or even the morning market is right in front of the door and so we go breakfast there, per person between 3 and 5 euros when it comes up.

For two nights in the restaurant I would plan 20-30€. If you want to have European food, you have to plan more. Or you eat a lot of street food, then you can plan 10-15€ in the evening.

National parks are more and more expensive for foreigners and, unfortunately, in 2023 they have also raised the prices right.

If you or you want to travel around, the question is how. Flying with AirAsia zB is favorable, bus and train are even cheaper, but must be booked in time. Because you don’t want the 3rd class on the train. If you fly with Bangkok Airways directly to Koh Samui it will be relatively expensive again.

Bang Kroot is much cheaper, but also quiet than when you go to Phuket.

Hotels are usually more expensive from mid-December to the end of March or partly even to May.

Thailand is much cheaper than Germany, so if you are oriented to Dtl., you have enough and bring something home.

Howivle you need depends of course on your activities and also whether your alcohol drinks or lives anti-alcoholic, alcohol is comparable in Thailand (in restaurants) to Germany.

We have always been here in winter for years (mostly Pattaya) and need as a couple a month. 900,- and 1200,- Euro (without hotel), but make little “activities” because we already know everything, but weekly 2 x massage and also our beer/wine is in it.

Plant as much as you plan a holiday in Germany and grab a safety reserve on top of it. Food is comparatively cheap, but activity can go into the money.

Possibly, then at the end there will be a little more uneven. But that’s better than the other way around when you get out of money on holiday.
