How much money for food per month for 3 people in 2023?

What do you consider a reasonable amount to spend on sustainable grocery shopping for a family of three? I'd be interested in your ideas and, above all, your experiences. Thanks in advance.

The Bio-Gedönsrath is completely overrated anyway.

If I see my sister and family (you, He and the two children in the KiGa-Alter…), where He is not allowed to buy at Lidl and Co., because you mean “you don’t have to pay in the grade class…you have to return something *blablabla*” and therefore also not only at the local butcher/baker, but for that -…instead of discounter …- at EDEKA/Rewechest any

Yes, I praise our -to two – ~500€ mtl for foods of which we buy almost only from Lidl/Aldi, but have 5x weekly meat and order 1-2x weekly or go out to eat.

I personally expect 20-25€ per week per person. I have been driving very well for 10 years and without problems. But perhaps it is also because I do not buy any finished product or soft drinks or alcohol or massive sweets.

For this, I cook fresh daily, eighth strongly on the prices/offers, only buy what is really needed (extras only rarely) and judge me with fruit and vegetables very after the season. In winter there are no strawberries or watered tomatoes, but these are only fresh in summer.

Also buy quite a lot of organic food and yet I get very well with the budget and then it may be a substitute product or for visiting meat (where I only buy it once a year when my godchild is there this is only two years old and I then take it into consideration that her mother wants to continue to get some meat).

You mean that a person with 100 € for food comes through the month and that is also organic? I’ll go shopping with you.

Yeah, I can. As I said, I have been doing without problems for years and now also at the currently high prices (because I am currently reducing my excessive stock somewhat, I even need less in the month since I hardly have to buy anything).

However, I do not buy everything in organic and especially not in the bio market. With me it just makes the mix between organic and conventional. I also buy vegetables and fruits only after season and that for the most part directly at the farmer that offers a lot of organic.

And as a result I’m saving most, that I make a lot of myself and don’t get ready. It takes me some time (which I love to take for it) but also some money. And the fact that almost nothing is thrown away from me, but I almost reprocessed everything in my kitchen. Whether it’s sweet green or sweet rests or leftovers from dinner.

Vegetables cost 10€ per kilo today. For a cucumber you pay 4€ for 4 tomatoes today 5€. 4 paprika 10€

approx. 60-70 euro the week I spend for 3 people in the budget.

So 30€ per week per person. Also depends on how much meat is eaten. Mci, frozen pizza, candy, chips, soft drinks can be omitted.

Citizens’ money level is about 175 euros/month. That would be 60 euros per person per week.
If you manage to buy this budget sustainably: congratulations.
I buy fruit and vegetables regionally and seasonally, meat only regionally from a reasonable stance (no mass livestock), bread and cheese directly at the trader (without packaging waste) and would not get out with the budget per person.

Inc. Drugstore? Locker 700 to 800 € if you also buy organic and healthy, so good oils, nuts, maple syrup (completely expensive!) etc.

I live alone and buy for about 70 to 100 € a week. No meat, no sausage. I cook myself and often bake bread myself.

And even white flour products and eggs have become expensive

I don’t know what you understand under “sustainable”. If you cook more, you need more ingredients. Several people make more dirt, so they have to be cleaned and washed more often. If there are still meat eaters at the table, 700 € are nothing. However, if you buy white flour products and eggs from the laying battery, it will be much cheaper.

Here you have my monthly expenses 2022 for food. I’m alone, but cook three times every week for 4 to 6 people.

Today we spend between 600+700 euros and before the Corona and Russia shit, we came out with 500 euros for 3 people

Unfortunately, it has become a reality and it will continue to rise with food prices. There is a lot to be consumed in a 3 person household. And we are not a family that consists only of overweight

Why Russia scheis. If then Germany and Ukraine suck. Germany provokes a 3rd world war while the population wants peace.
