Working hours and breaks are very strictly regulated. Similar to lkw drivers. On 12h flights even a 2nd cockpit crew is on board because the pilots must be replaced in between.

But after one night, the crew is ready to work again.

The next day, but not the next flight. Because it means:

If a time zone difference of four or more time zones exists between the place of arrival of the flight service and the place of termination of the flight service, the minimum rest period increases to 14 hours.

Germany and Thailand have 5 or 6 hours of time difference.

LH lands around 3 p.m. and goes out at 11 p.m.

So the crew has to go to the hotel for at least one night.

In the example FRA (MUC) – BKK

Of course it is. Long flights like MIA have even been flown as a pick-up, without a day off. It’s legal.

Steering and resting times are similar to those of the truck driver, only that no break is required after 4 hours.

You can fly back after the next day.

Yeah, I can.
