Hi, So, two friends and I are discussing that the sentence "I ran (for example, a marathon)" doesn't work, and only "I ran" works, because verbs that involve movement are written with "bin." However, based on my school knowledge, I still think "I ran" works. Can someone with good grammar help me? thanks in advance

It is important that the whole text is in the present and there is no literal speech, but only indirect speech. So instead:
Moritz says: “I love good question.”
you write:
Moritz says he loves a good question.
Write objectively and in your own words.
