What is the best way to travel from Venice to Rome?

Good day,

My girlfriend and I are going on a week-long vacation to Italy in April, planning to visit Venice and Rome. We'll fly to Italy and use public transportation there, but we're not quite sure how we'll get from A to B—from Rome to Venice or vice versa. Unfortunately, a connecting flight with checked baggage would be far too expensive and out of our budget.

We saw that Flixbus would be a cheap option, but are still looking for alternatives.

Does anyone know anything about traveling long distances in Italy without their own car?

Buses and trains are the most convenient and cheapest option for travelling from Venice to Rome. There are several long-distance bus and train connections that operate daily, including the Italian companies FlixBus, GoEuro, Trenitalia and Italo Treno. The bus ride usually takes between 5 and 6 hours, the train ride between 4 and 5 hours.

I would avoid Flixbus, as the driving style is usually very questionable. I recommend by train. Here you can find more information:

I hope I could help you! Good evening 🙂
